Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners

Job Description (Immediate Need)

We are seeking compassionate and positive PAs/NPs to provide therapeutic support for patients with mental health, behavioral health, and substance abuse issues. Certus provides psychiatric services and care to the adult population, including clinical diagnosis, intervention planning, medication management, and discharge planning. You will work collaboratively with our psychiatrist and therapy team in both outpatient and inpatient settings.

The PA/NP positions are full-time office hour shifts, and responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Providing psychiatric assessment and clinical
  • Coordinating care with social workers for patient transitions to outpatient care
  • Recommending treatment options and following treatment outcomes
  • Active participation in case conferences and related team-based meetings
  • Prescribing psychotropic medication as appropriate for client care
  • Working with the clinical staff towards the integration of health with behavioral health
  • Partnering with other staff toward best practice intervention planning
  • Recommending discharge and aftercare planning
  • Providing client education on behavioral health issues and strategies for recovery
  • Clinical monitoring, such as but not limited to:
    • Vital signs
    • Weight
    • I and O
    • Fingerstick glucose monitoring
    • Stools for occult blood
    • Oxygen saturation levels
    • Performing procedures as delegated by the physician for which the GNP has been trained, educated or has experience

Requirements

  • Physician Assistant Degree or Nurse Practitioner degree with training in Psychiatry and possessing current license to practice as a nurse practitioner or physician assistant in North Carolina
  • Licensed by the NC Medical Board of Examiners and/or the NCBON and/or the ability to obtain your NC Medical License and/or your NCBON Licensure
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills

Certified Medical Assistant

Job Description (Immediate Need)

We are seeking a compassionate and positive Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to provide therapeutic support for patients with mental health, behavioral health, and substance abuse issues. The CMA will work collaboratively with our providers and therapy team in our outpatient settings, provide services in the care and treatment of patients under the direct supervision of our providers. This is a full-time position.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Observing patients for symptoms and/or reactions, including general physical and/or mental condition for signs, which may be indicative of adverse change.
  • Actively participating in case conferences and related team-based meetings.
  • Working with the clinical staff towards the integration of patient health with behavioral health.
  • Providing client education on behavioral health issues and strategies for recovery.
  • Responsible for the delivery and coordination of quality patient care in compliance with physician orders.
  • Continuously observing and assessing a patient’s condition and care needs and reports changes in condition to the supervisor and/or physician as appropriate.
  • Documenting all activities, assessments, nursing actions, responses and coordination of care in a timely manner whenever care is delivered
  • Participating, implementing, and updating a patient’s nursing care plan.
  • Recognizing changes in patient needs and responses requiring intervention and implement care to prevent risk or reduce risk.
  • Educating the patient and family regarding the disease process, self-care techniques and prevention strategies, and in meeting the patient’s nursing needs.
  • Providing treatment support for TMS and Esketamine for Treatment-Resistant Depression (TRD) pt.

Requirements:

  • Licensed Practical Nurse degree with at least 1 year of experience
  • A current license to practice as CMA in North Carolina State
  • Current, unrestricted CMA License by the NC Board and/or the ability to obtain your License
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills
  • Familiarity with EMR programs
  • Confidence to work independently
  • Willingness to take over existing patients’ workload
